Dr. Helen Martin
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Helen Martin brings more than 30 years experience as a veterinarian to the Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital® team. A 1977 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, she was a member of the Dean's List and GWENS, the Women's Honor Society. Previously, she has been the owner/sole practitioner of an ambulatory veterinary practice, serving clients in a four county area and worked as a relief veterinarian in the Pearland area as well.

She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and keeps up to date by completing an average of 50 hours of continuing education annually to provide the highest standard of care for your pet.

Her professional interests include acupunture, holistic treatment strategies, dentistry and the special role of the companion animal to its human family.

Dr. Martin is an avid scuba diver, antique collector and volunteers in the community with an emphasis on children and women's shelters. She also is a strong supporter of animal rescue organizations.

"My philosophy in practicing is to treat each pet I see as if it were my own."

Her happy companion animals include three cats -- Evinrude, Taz and Kitty -- and a feisty toy French poodle -- Maurice (shown in picture above).
