Our Services (click on for more info)
Behavior Counseling

While our doctors are not Board certified in behavior problems, we can offer recommendations if your pet has behavioral problems such as aggression, separation anxiety or inappropriate elimination (defecation and urination) to name a few.

Flea Prevention & Heartworm Prevention Products

We currently sell Interceptor®, Sentinel®, Advantage, Advantix, Revolution® and Heartgard® Plus. Sentinel® and Revolution® are combination products that are effective in preventing both fleas and heartworms. There are specific pluses and minuses to each product. Please call us for details.

Do you ever forget to give your pet his monthly heartworm preventatives? We have medication reminders that will email you when it is time for your pet's monthly heartworm prevention. You set it up yourself inside your very own FREE Pet Portal (see the Email Alerts section).

We strongly recommend that all dogs, cats and ferrets be placed on heartworm prevention products year-round.

Requirements for Boarding, Hospitalized and Surgical Patients

All pets admitted to the hospital must be current on all required vaccinations:

Dogs: Distemper, Parvo, Corona, Bordetella (Kennel Cough) and Rabies

Cats: FVRCP (Distemper, Upper Respiratory) and Rabies

These vaccines must have been administered by a veterinarian and we require written or telephoned proof of vaccination.

In addition, all admitted pets must have had a negative fecal exam result within the past year. This is for the safety of all of our patients. If a pet needs these procedures, they will be performed and charged accordingly.

All pets will also be examined for the presence of fleas and ticks upon admission to the hospital. Pets carrying either of these parasites will be treated accordingly (administration of a commercial flea/tick product, bathed or dipped) at regular charge to the owner.

Our Fees

We make every effort to ensure that all fees are fair and reasonable and you are encouraged to discuss charges before services are rendered.  Our fees are based upon time spent, medication, diagnostics and procedures necessary to ensure the best medical treatment for your pet.

Payment in full is required at the time services are rendered.  Due to the financial requirements of running a business, we do not allow any type of payment plans.   If you require special arrangements, please talk to the Office Manager prior to treatment.

Leashes

For the safety of our patients, we request that all pets be leashed, securely held, or transported in a carrier while on hospital premises.  We respectfully request that reptiles be secured in a carrier also.

Walk-ins

Although we care for pets primarily by appointment only, walk-ins are accommodated and will be seen as time allows. Like people, animals do not synchronize their illnesses with an appointment book and surgical procedures can sometimes take longer than planned; so, an occasional appointment delay can occur.

Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time and a phone call is appreciated by all if an appointment needs to be rescheduled.

We do offer a convenient early morning drop-off service for those people who cannot free up enough time for an appointment.  Also, this service sometimes is a preferable alternative to the wait (and additional work-in fee if we are fully booked) often accompanied by walking in without an appointment.

Continuing Education

Veterinary medicine is a continually changing field as product improvements and technological advances are made.  Our doctors feel that it is important to be kept abreast of these latest developments.  We attend numerous hours of continuing education each year, usually surpassing the number of continuing education hours required by law.

Check out our frequently asked question “One of our doctors is a member of the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice, what is this organization?
