Social Media is a great way to stay up-to-date on what is going on here at Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital®. We also understand that the reason there are so many different Social Media sites is that different people like to get information in different ways. This is why you’ll find us, not only on the World Wide Web, but we also have a Mobile Website as well as a Mobile App. Please look below and follow us on the Social Media site of your choice. If you follow a different social site that you would like for us to be included on, please email our Hospital Administrator at email@example.com so we can see about getting started on that site.
We have included the design of each Social Media site, or a how-to guide as a “did you know” segment.
Facebook – As the most popular of all Social Media sites, most people know about Facebook. Briefly, it is basically a public conversation with everyone who is friends (or likes) the poster or the person (or business) whose wall has been written on.
Twitter – Limited to 140 characters. This is the place where hash-tags (#), or keywords are used. A Twitter user can see anyone who posts a comment, without being friends or following a specific individual by “discovering” topics of conversations, using hash-tags.
Google+ – Basically the same as Facebook, except you can specify exactly who you share things with, called “circles”. You can create circles for co-workers, friends, acquaintances, etc. If you have an Android phone or a Gmail account, you’re on Google+. (Android is owned by Google).
LinkedIn – This is essentially an online Resume’ with references. Connections can endorse you and you can post completed projects, such as designs, blueprints, public speaking accomplishments, etc.
FourSquare – Designed for people to “check-in” and let others know where they are or have been. If you have the app on your phone, it will prompt you to rate the location where you are, and you will sometimes get recommendations or rewards for checking in and using the app.
YouTube – A video-sharing website where visitors can upload, view and share videos (owned by Google). Videos can be shared for public or private viewing and all videos are automatically converted to SWF (Flash Video) files, meaning the viewer must have Adobe Flash installed on the viewing device.
Flickr! – An online community for photo and video sharing (owned by Yahoo!). You can post images so others can download different quality of images or lock images down completely to not allow any downloading. We have all images on this site, completely unlocked so you can download any image you like.
Pinterest – A pinboard-style photo-sharing website that allows us to create and manage theme-based image collections such as event, interests, and hobbies. From this site, you can “re-pin” images to your own pinboard, or “like” photos. Here we have information we have created or found else on the World Wide Web that we feel is informative and/or fun.
Instagram – This is another photo-sharing, video-sharing and social media service that is primarily a mobile site. With this site, you can apply digital filters and share them on other social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Flickr. Unlike our Mobile App Photo-sharing feature, Instagram allows viewers to share photos or videos instantly to these social media sites.
Angie’s List – This is a paid subscription-based service where subscribers look to find service providers of services of which they are in need. Subscribers rely heavily on other subscriber’s reviews of companies. This is a trusted review site and in 2013 they launched an online purchase all where subscribers pay in advance for services desired. Angie’s List uses a report card grading system ranging from A to F.
Mobile App – This is a software application designed to run on smartphones, tablet computers, and other mobile devices. These are available through application distribution platforms such as the Apple App Store (Apple Device) and Google Play Store (Android Device). A Mobile App allows the user to have information provided by the app creator at the touch of a button, as well as allow Push Notifications (messages sent through the Mobile App) directly to the end user.
RSS (Real Simple Syndication) – This is our blog and when you click on this link, you will see a list of our articles (or blog posts) in alphabetical order, not in the order published. However, if you have a blog service on your SmartPhone or Tablet, you can use enter the web address of cpvh.com/feed/ and it should recognize it.
Snapchat – A mobile messaging service that sends photos or videos to a “storyline” or to a specific individual. “Snaps” as they are called, remain visible for up to 10 seconds, as determined by the sender. You can take a screenshot of an image, and the sender is notified that it was taken.
Sun Frog Shirts – While not really a social media site, this is where we carry a line of apparel designs for purchase to show the love for your pet. Take a few minutes to browse our selection of shirts.
As we add our information to additional Social Media Sites, we’ll add the information here for easy access. Thank you once again for trusting your pet to our care. We take the job of helping clients be responsible pet owners through education very seriously.
