SONY DSCDr. Wickel graduated from Texas A&M University in 1991 and practiced at two other area hospitals before opening Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital® in 1997. She is a member of the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice (to be a member of this organization, Veterinarians need to complete 150 hours of continuing education per 3 year period), American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, American Veterinary Medical Association and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. She is also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist.

Dr. Wickel completes an average of 60-80 hours of continuing education each year to provide your pets with the best care possible.

Professional Interests: Acupuncture (is certified), homotoxicology,  herbal medications, ultrasound & internal medicine

Outside Interests: New Hope Church, Christian Motorcyclists Association, reading, gardening, cooking, and pets.

Husband: William Wickel

Pets: Two English Bulldogs: Francesca (Frankie) and Margaret May (Maggie)
