It’s Fall – It’s the Perfect Time of Year and It’s the Perfect Time to Bring Your Pet Back to the Vet!
In celebration of National Pet Wellness Month, we are sharing the importance of taking your pet to the vet, and we are providing you with a special offer to bring your pet in!
We are sharing the importance of taking your pet to the vet. But, we’re not stopping there. We’re also making it easy for you to do so. Call us at 281.997.1426 and mention Fall Special to schedule your pet’s wellness checkup.
The fall weather has finally arrived and it is oh so gorgeous! People are now enjoying the beautiful weather outside, going to fall festivals and making trips to see the fall foliage. And as a result, there are typically fewer pets in our reception area, so it’s the perfect time to bring your kitty or nervous dog in for their checkup. Have you been dreading bringing your kitty to the vet? Visit our website at CPVH.com/Fall-Special for some useful information. We’ll even let you borrow a carrier for your kitty if needed!
By taking advantage of this offer, together, we will make sure that your baby is as healthy on the inside as they appear on the outside!
Did you know that according to the American Humane Society, cats visit their veterinarian only half as many dogs?
If cats age at a faster rate than humans, and they do, why don’t owners take their cats to the vet more often, instead of less often? We know there are many reasons. It’s difficult to catch your cat the day he is to go to the vet. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” (he’s not showing any signs of illness). My cat doesn’t go outside, so he doesn’t need vaccinations.
While these all seem like reasonable reasons, these are easily addressed.
- The American Association of Feline Practitioners recommends turning your cat carrier into a “Home Away From Home” so when it’s time to “catch” your feline friend for a trip to the vet, he won’t run and hide.
- “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. We understand, your cat doesn’t show any signs of being ill, so why should you go through the hassle, not to mention the expense, of bringing him to the vet? The short answer; cats are very good at hiding the fact that they may, in fact, be ill. Additionally, read this short story about Coup, an almost 11-year-old female Chow Mix. She didn’t show any signs of sickness either. We want to make sure he is as healthy on the inside as he is on the outside.
- My cat doesn’t go outside, so he doesn’t need vaccinations. Well, not exactly. You never know what your cat may be exposed to, other pets you come into contact with or other animals that may come into your house. The bottom line is, do you want to take the gamble?
