Requirements for Boarding, Hospitalized and Surgical Patients
We have some fairly strict requirements for our patients so that ALL of our patients can enjoy longer, healthier lives…in other words, the requirements we have in place are for the safety of YOUR pet.
All pets must be at least 16 weeks old – no exceptions.
All pets admitted to the hospital must be current on all required vaccinations:
- Dogs: Distemper, Parvo, Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Rabies and Canine Influenza
- Cats: FVRCP (Distemper, Upper Respiratory) and Rabies
These vaccines must have been administered by a veterinarian and we require written or telephoned proof of vaccination.
All admitted pets must have had a complete physical examination performed at our hospital within the past year. In addition, boarders must have had a negative intestinal parasite screen (fecal exam) result within the past year. This is for the safety of all of our patients. If a pet needs these procedures, they will be performed and charged accordingly.
All pets will be examined for the presence of fleas and ticks upon admission to the hospital. Pets who have any ticks at all will NOT be admitted for boarding. If your pet has ticks, please treat him/her for ticks a few days before your boarding reservation. Pets with fleas will be treated (administration of a commercial flea product or bathed) at regular charge to the owner.
Our doctors do enjoy seeing exotic patients. Sorry, but we do not see poisonous pets, reptiles, monkeys or birds. Exotic patients can be seen by appointment only. Contact us prior to bringing your pet in.

Animals We Do Not Treat
For the safety of our patients, we request that all pets be leashed or transported in a carrier while on hospital premises. We respectfully ask that all of our cat patients be left in their carriers until they are in an exam room. This is for their own safety.
Although we care for pets primarily by appointment only, walk-ins are accommodated and will be seen as time allows. This is not the best way to be seen in a timely manner; we recommend you contact us to schedule an appointment so that you can be seen more quickly. Like people, animals do not synchronize their illnesses with an appointment book and surgical procedures can sometimes take longer than planned; so, an occasional appointment delay can occur.
Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time and a phone call is appreciated by all if an appointment needs to be rescheduled.
We do offer a convenient early morning drop-off service for those people who cannot free up enough time for an appointment; and we do this at no additional charge. Also, this service sometimes is a preferable alternative to the wait (and additional work-in fee if we are fully booked) often accompanied by walking in without an appointment.
Fees & Payment Policy
We make every effort to ensure that all fees are fair and reasonable and you are encouraged to discuss charges before services are rendered. Our fees are based upon time spent, medication, diagnostics and procedures necessary to ensure the best medical treatment for your pet.
Payment in full is required at the time services are rendered. Due to the financial requirements of running a business, we do not allow any type of payment plans. However, we do accept a wide array of payment options including Care Credit. For a full list payments accepted, see the bottom of our About Us page.
