Veterinarian/Owner

SONY DSCDr. Wickel graduated from Texas A&M University in 1991 and practiced at two other area hospitals before opening Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital® in 1997. She is a member of the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice (to be a member of this organization, Veterinarians need to complete 150 hours of continuing education per 3 year period), American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, American Veterinary Medical Association and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. She is also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist.

Since Dr. Wickel is the only Certified Acupuncturist on staff,  she has shifted her focus to mainly seeing patients who only need those services.

Dr. Wickel completes an average of 60-80 hours of continuing education each year to provide your pets with the best care possible.

Professional Interests: Acupuncture, homotoxicology,  herbal medications, ultrasound & internal medicine

Outside Interests: New Hope Church, Christian Motorcyclists Association, reading, gardening and cooking

Husband: William Wickel

Pets: Two English Bulldogs: Francesca (Frankie) and Margaret May (Maggie)
