‘Twas the Night Before Christmas
By: Abby the Cat
‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, ‘cause I ate the mouse!
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
But I knocked them all down with a feline flare;
My humans were nestled all snug in their beds;
Perfect time to MEOW, I’ve got to be fed!
I’m rather starved from all of my naps,
I need my strength, there’s gifts to unwrap.
The boxes and bags and fun twirly ribbon;
I must destroy them! I’m a cat, it’s a given.
I made a hideout in the tree in the hall;
I was rather surprised when no one heard it fall.
The tinsel, the lights, the feathery branches;
The joy, the glee…..the horrified glances.
My humans are up, and they look rather grumpy;
And I couldn’t care less, because I AM QUEEN ABBY!!!!
Remember we’re cats, don’t let us out of your sight!
Merry Catmas to all, and to all a goodnight!
